Sailing to Antarctica & South Georgia
The best way I have found to describe a tall ship is… it looks like a pirate ship… She is the only tall ship that sails to Antarctica (in the world). Although she offers smaller expeditions (20 days) leaving from and returning to Ushuaia Argentina (the southernmost city in the world), I signed up for their 50-day trip (go big or go home!), being one of 51 crew members (19 ship crew and 32 voyage crew), leaving Montevideo Uruguay, sailing (9 days) to the remote islands of The Falklands and (5-6 days) South Georgia, crossing the famous Weddle Sea, arriving at (8 days) and exploring Antarctica and then crossing the infamous Drake Passage to Ushuaia Argentina. It was an epic trip of a lifetime. Everything I write about can prepare you for any cold climate travels, including (but not limited to) sailing trips!
Bark Europa is a tall ship built in 1911.
